Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation has been among the best selling foundations on Sephora since I believe I started this blog (which means a few good years). To my surprise, it also has been one of the products that I've been avoiding to buy for a long long time (aka up until few month back). For some reason I always though of it as a heavy full coverage foundation that I really didn't need or want.
Recently, I went to Sephora to try to find a slightly bit lighter shade foundation that I could wear during cooler months and mix with my darker shades foundations (including my all time favorite Too Faced Born This Way), when I came across MUFE Ultra HD Foundation and I thought why not give it a try, especially that so many people has been raving about it.
Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation texture is definitely more on the creamier, thicker side but when applied onto my skin it felt surprisingly lightweight. This foundation blends out flawlessly and you can definitely work up your way when it comes to the amount of coverage you need (medium to full). One thing that I was not too impressed with was actually that so to speak full coverage that this foundation has provided on me. Too Faced Born This Way foundation gives me more coverage than MUFE Ultra HD Foundation, which really surprised me because like I said I thought that this was the ultimate full coverage foundation. Still, the coverage was nice and it evened out my skin without feeling heavy or cakey. I am actually really impressed with how lightweight this foundation feels on the skin.
I got shade 118 = Y325 - Flesh, which matches my skin tone really well and it also works great when mixed with different foundations too.
Overall, I really like this foundation but my all time favorite full coverage foundation is still Too Faced Born This Way. Too Faced Born This Way, in my opinion, provides better coverage and more flawless finish and Born This Way lasting power is a bit better than MUFE Ultra HD Foundation on my complexion. Still MUFE Ultra HD Foundation is a great product and I know that when it comes to foundations, most of the time the results will vary and be based on your skin type too.
